Features: It simulates a webcam on your system. The application adds a virtual software camera as a device on your operating system. You can then use this virtual camera as if it was real. You can play a video through this virtual cam and transmit it to your chat buddies. It could be pre-recorded video, a photo album or simply an image. It can be used with all instant messenger like MSN, Yahoo, AOL, ICQ, Camfrog Video Chat. It can even broadcast one single movie to all the messengers at the same time. If you have a webcam already that too can be integrated easily. It then can be used by several applications at the same time and make your video chat quite interesting. The latest Webcam Simulator is posted after testing with Yahoo, MSN, Paltalk, CamFrog, Skype, AIM, AnyWebcam, and flash based portals on all Windows versions including XP, Vista and 2003. The interface is simple. It has an area where you add, delete video clips to the play-list. One part of the interface integrates with a explorer like functionality. This lets you find the files you want to play and transmit to your friends. You then select a clip from your list and play it with the video play controls available on the interface tool bar. The controls are the usual play, pause, stop etc.

Overall: It`s not true simulation of a web cam. Rather a means of sending video while chatting. Has novelty value.

It`s a neat little programme with little to be critical about - works well with no drama, big change. Reminds me of similar progs for the old 8/16 bit computers many years ago.

This is some interesting software here. It`s a great thing to do for fun. No you don`t really need a green screen to put a custom background behind you. You can play any video file as your webcam, more informative then yourself atleast.

I`ve used this while studying abroad last semester. It was great when I wanted to record something on my friend`s computer, take it to my computer (without a webcam), and then play it for my friends back home on Skype. They thought it was happening right then!

The software is well-written and I haven`t found a single webcam application that failed to recognize and use the webcam simulator virtual camera 100% correctly. I`d recommend this to anyone.
